The fire fighting protection system of AS/RC Logistics warehouse is consist of automatic alarm system and fixed fire extinguishing facilities:
 
Proposal 1.
1. Automatic sprinkler system
2. Fire hydrant system
3. Infrared thermography fire alarm system (or Air sampling alarm system)
Above mentioned three sets of system combine together into one unified fire fighting system.
We do not recommend the use of Air sampling alarm system cause the false alarm rate is relatively high.
 
Working principle:
Infrared thermography fire alarm system consists of the infrared thermography fire detect and alarm host and the infrared fire detection alarm. The infrared fire detection alarm is one kind of  active search for active probe heat source, and it can real-time monitor the radiation temperature chang rate and the chang speed in the plane area as the alarm criterion. When it reaches or exceeds the pre-set value, the alarm signal will send by the fire alarm host (audible and visual alarm action). Meanwhile the system cut off the non-fire power source, and light the emergency lighting and the evacuation signs mark. The on site working staff also can start hydrant system to extinguish the fire at initial stage.
When the warehouse air temperature reach above the pre-set value of automatic sprinkler system  (68 º C). The automatic sprinkler system run to extinguish the fire.
The advantages of this proposal that it can meet the requirements of extinguish fire under relatively low cost. Disadvantage is low efficiency.

1. Water mist fire extinguishing system
2. Water mist fire hydrant system
3. Infrared thermography fire alarm system (or Air sampling alarm system)

Working principle:
Infrared thermography fire alarm system consists of the infrared thermography fire detect and alarm host and the infrared fire detection alarm. When it reaches or exceeds the pre-set value, the alarm signal will send by the fire alarm host (audible and visual alarm action). Meanwhile it start the water mist fire hydrant pump, the water goes through the fire pump, pipeline system, water flow indicator, water mist nozzle and valve to spray out the water mist on the whole protecting area to extinguish the fire. Also the relative operation signal feedback to the fire fighting control room. The on site working staff also can start water mist hydrant system to extinguish the fire at initial stage.
The advantages of this proposal that it can extinguish various kinds of fire for the protection area such as material fire or electric fire in the warehouse. The water mist fire extinguish efficiency is over five times of normal sprinkler system. It is totally automatic and minimum on the second pollution on tobacco.
Disadvantage is the fabrication cost is relatively high.
 
  
Tobacco logistics warehouse fire protection system is very important role to the tobacco warehouse safety. We actual inspect the tobacco warehouse, organized relevant experts to discuss, the existing fire protection system, puts forward the design proposal and the explanation as following:
How to select the fire alarm linkage control system: due to tobacco warehouse has bales frequently in/out of storage, this procedure will cause a large number of dust particles floating in the air which easily lead to fire detector false alarm or contaminated cause the whole system initial failure. Small tobacco dust/particles and moisture also easily lead to fire detector alarm. The small tobacco dust/particles, moisture can pollution the smoke detector sampling chamber or the  aspirated detector sampling chamber to caus fire detector failure in advance or frequent false positives. In addition, tobacco warehouse mostly with big space and high structure, the warehouse large area roof is directly under the sun baked, when  near the warehouse roof inside air is heated by the sun, hot air will form the stagnant layer thermal barrier phenomenon, when the fire occurs, which will prevent the flue gas to move near the roof that will prevent fire detector to detect.  So the fire detector selection is very important.
 
1. The fire detector classification
A. According to the detection methods which can be divided into passive detector and active detector. The passive detectors is mainly refers to the conventional point type smoke detector, temperature detector, flame detector. And smoke, flame, temperature multiparameter compositive detector. This type detector's characteristics is the fire characteristic signal till the smoke, temperature or flame spread to detection point to alarm. Active detector mainly refers to the suction type fire detector, scanning image fire detector, infrared thermography fire detector, etc. This type fire detector has ability to find the fire in initiative.
 
B. According to the measurement range can be divided into three categories such as point type detector, linear type detector and plane array type detector. The point type detector can detect the warning at one point of the parameters such temperature and smoke. Such as the Point type ion sensing smoke detector, point type heat detector. Linear type detector can be carried out on a straight line or curve warning range to detect the smoke and temperature change, such as infrared beam line type detector,laser line type fire detector, cable type temperature sensing detector. The plane array type detectors can be carried out on any warning range to detect the point of smoke and temperature change. This type detector such as image type fire detectors, infrared thermography fire detector, scanning type fire detector.
 
C. Formerly, part of tobacco warehouse had adopted the point type smoke detector, but so many problems occur such as the corrosion problems, pollution problems, especially the problem of thermal barrier in warehouse. In practice the point type detector can not use in normal. In recent years the majority of tobacco warehouse using infrared beam smoke fire detectors, from the view of technology point, this proposal is one of the most economical, practical technology and reliable. But the main problems existing in the practice, the alarm sensitivity is too low, at the same time, small tobacco dust particle and moisture interaction will also pollute the detector`s protective glass, the glass window must always be clean and maintenance. Because the infrared transmitter and receiver detector must be precise alignment, in the cleaning process, slightly careless action will affect the sensors para. Thereby affecting the alarm sensitivity and it can't even alarm. Few of tobacco warehouse using the air sampling detector, but by the affection of the dust particles and small tobacco dust particles that the false alarm phenomenon is very serious and reducing the sensitivity can reduce false alarm, but the false alarm rate is still high. On the other hand sampling tube and sampling hole is very easy been blocked. It is difficult for maintenance and cleaning, The filter also soon failure and it need to be replacement frequently.
 
D. The fire detection methods of traditional smoke detector are associated with particles in the air. This fire protection project technical proposal recommended to use the infrared thermography detector. The detector belongs to the plane array fire detector, the main working principle is to detect and analyze temperature area, is not affected by the air particles. The infrared thermography detector with wide detection range, high precision, it is the ideal fire detector.
 
2. The introduction of infrared thermal imaging technology
Infrared thermal imaging technology is the main detection method for National security, it have been widely used in satellite, missile, aircraft and other military areas. With the development of uncooled infrared thermography technology, especially the manufacturing cost is greatly reduced, and its application is increasing in industrial, medical, civil areas.
 
The main characteristics of the infrared thermal imaging technology
A. Remote and non contact measurement to detect the temperature area: by measured the object  infrared energy to determine the temperature, without needs of direct contact with the target, it can be carried on remote to found the hot source and over temperature alarm.
B. Quick response: while the detector received infrared radiation from the monitoring targets, it can be determined and transient temperature at same time. It can short response time.
C. High sensitivity: while the object's temperature changes a little, the radiation energy is changed greatly, it is easy to measure. The infrared thermal imaging detector could accurately distinguish the difference is very small, the maximum resolution of 0.08 ºC.
D. High accuracy: no need to break the object's temperature distribution with high measuring precision. It can simultaneously measure the temperature of each point of the object surface and it can directly show the object's surface temperature,and show it on the monitor.
 
Infrared thermography detector using imported and second generations infrared CCD focal plane array technology of infrared sensor and a new generation of embedded system technology. It mainly has the following features:
A. Widely detection range: the detector warning range is a sight plane. It can monitor any view in one plane resolvable temperature changes. The thermal maximum resolution can reach 384 × 288 dot matrix.
B. High sensitivity: the temperature measurement accuracy of infrared thermography fire detector can reach 2% determination of  total range. The highest sensitivity resolution can reach 0.2 ºC (related to temperature range).
C. Very fast response: the highest response rate can reach 30 ºC/min.
D. Alarm temperature can be set according to the pixel dots, it also can be set according to the pixel point range. It can defined alarm area according to the image coordinates. And it can set mark on the range and set multiple alarm limit (constant temperature, heating rate limit).
E. It can transfer the temperature changing data into a video signal and display on the monitor to show the area temperature real-time condition.
F. In normal monitoring state, detectors can provide important information to the temperature alarm monitoring equipment through RS485 or Ethernet physical net work. When the pre fire or fire occurs, the detector can provide an alarm signal through RS485 or Ethernet physical net work to the fire alarm controller and other monitoring equipment.
G. Due to the infrared thermography detector is a plane array type detector. It is not need precise positioning and alignment. So that installation, debugging and maintenance are very convenient. It does not need to worry about the change detector position by environmental vibration or cleaning.  It no need to frequently adjust machines. Just ensure the equipment or facilities be in the field of view of the detector range.
H. Because of the infrared thermography detector belongs to the active search detector to search the heat source. To set alarm according to the temperature change rate and the radiation temperature monitoring of plane as the alarm criterion. Thus it can overcome the defect of linear smoke detector, not affected by dust particles and tobacco particle,it is not affected by the temporary shelter to give out a false alarm. Also it can choose the installation location and detection area by needs.
I. Because the infrared thermography detector is receiving far infrared. And the far infrared light has strong ability to bypass the obstacles. And the hot air flow normally with very weak heat radiation ability. So the infrared thermography detector does not affect by the roof thermal barrier and smoke
